While the warmer months are slowly creeping closer, there is a distinct chill in the air reminding us that winter is still very much here to stay for a while longer yet. What better way to beat the winter blues than to book a weekend getaway in the beautiful Clare Valley and wine, dine and stay at Reillys!
So, how should you spend your weekend in the Clare Valley? Check out this 3-day sample itinerary…
| Day 1 |
Just 90 minutes from Adelaide via the Northern Expressway, the broad acre farming landscape gives way to the gently rolling hills of the Clare Valley. Stop off in Tarlee or Auburn for great coffee and morning tea before turning off Main North Rd (Horrocks Hwy) at Leasingham and driving the short distance to Reillys Cellar Door & Restaurant in the historic township of Mintaro.
Indulge in Reillys Long Lunch (available every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday by reservation) with 4 courses of chef-prepared delights complemented by personalised wine flights to suit your individual palate and preferences. Start with a shared platter before your choice of main, followed by a cheese course then your choice of dessert – just make sure you allow 2-3 hours to truly relax and enjoy this incredible food and wine experience!
After your Long Lunch, take a short stroll up the road to your private B&B cottage and continue to enjoy our country hospitality with cosy wood fires, warm slippers, hand made fudge and a bottle of our Fortified Shiraz – we can also arrange a light Gourmet Platter for your dinner if you want!

Wake up to sound of magpies and kookaburras and cook up a feast using the generous provisions provided including eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, bread, fresh fruit, cereals, juices, teas and plunger coffee.
Enjoy a day touring our beautiful region with Clare Valley Tours and let Mr Willson tailor a tour to your individual interests. Day tours must be pre-booked at www.clarevalleytours.com.au.
After arriving back at your B&B in the afternoon, enjoy some R&R or go for a walk to explore all the heritage sites in Mintaro.
Dinner at the Magpie & Stump Hotel is a must, even better it is just a short stroll down the road!

Polish off the rest of your generous breaky provisions before checking out at 10am.
Spend a relaxing day exploring the abundant cellar doors, restaurants, natural and historical attractions within the region before heading home.
