Reillys 2017 Mataro was planted over 20 years ago on the most elevated site of our St Clare estate vineyard in Leasingham, Clare Valley.
These vines are very low yielding averaging only 1T per acre with traditional winemaking techniques of small, open fermentation, hand plunging, and basket pressing preserving the delicate varietal characters.
A lifted and perfumed nose of violets and dark fruits complements the palate of ripe berries with savoury, earthy notes, fine velvety tannins, and crisp natural acidity. This small-batch wine will richly reward cellaring of up to 15 years.

"A brilliant wine- open fermented, hand plunged, basket pressed, still has plenty of purple hues, vibrant aromas of red & black berries with a hint of spice & violets, gorgeous savoury palate with lashings of berry flavours + some attractive earthy notes & silky tannins. AN ABSOLUTE RIPPER RED!!!"
